Basic Concepts in Quantum Information
by S. M. Girvin
Publisher: arXiv 2013
Number of pages: 52
Description:
These lecture notes will present a brief introduction to the basic theoretical concepts behind the 'second quantum revolution'. These notes will also provide an introduction to 'circuit QED'. In addition to being a novel test bed for non-linear quantum optics of microwave electrical circuits which use superconducting qubits as artificial atoms, circuit QED offers an architecture for constructing quantum information processors.

Quantum Information and Computation
by John Preskill - California Institute of Technology
We will study the properties that distinguish quantum information from classical information. And we will see how these properties can be exploited in the design of quantum algorithms that solve certain problems faster than classical algorithms can.
